hi peter..welcome to the forum

re sims: the web site looks pretty impressive...as far as led inlays goes...thats a bit bells and whistles
...just a comment..never heard of them before

Q:what is a ' good guitar '????
i have a japanese strat....set up to how i like it....nothing plays better .....nothing
so any half decent guitar can be the ultimate to the owner if its set up right

even top end gibsons etc need " setting up " to the customers preferences ( string gauge / action etc
and so on ...fender are over-hyped in any case cause they'er a mass produced  plank
with strings on...assembled by unemployed fruit pickers and winoes ( not blaming them )

so sims will probably turn out to be a good prospect

ps i love my gorgeous plank ....so will you

shaggy rugs and kitchens definitely dont go together ...imagine scraping up
a dropped bowl of porridge ...esp if you haven't got a dog
and...if you have got a dog make sure its porridge!

everybody plays from ear ...its very essential ....to play from music ( notes )
is the best way to being a versatile musician..then you can perform other peoples
music ( if its written down )...if you dont read the notes then guess

and...some real surprises can come from just looking at the chord sheets ( and thats notes(s)(s)also )

its a bit strange that the whole promotional web site offers no sound clips
is this a stealth kitchen advert or sweater promotion

give us a chance....please give more info

lets hear somebody play it....and a few sound clips
i had a dedicated midi git controller..it was a tw*t to set up ( double notes galore etc )
then a monumental fail ...it wouldn't boot to the controller unit ( sh!t software )

the only manifestations of any decent midi git devices seem to have been set up
by dedicated scientists pulling their hair out trying to impress.. teaming up with competent git players learning how to project them

i have been taken in twice now ..the last time the roland g20
some convincing youtube footage ...but a bit like the yeti ( not the full shilling )

if anyone uses one please post and help me sell
my g20...one thing for certain though ....you'll have to modify your playing technique

i must admit though i'd love a midi guitar that reproduced my style faithfully to a midi device
( sequencer / sound module ) straight out of the box

the only excuse for not using your pinky would be   " I aven't got one "

you can use any drum machine / rhythm box as a metronome...just get a groove to practice
to...then increase the BPM as you get more familiar with the piece you practicing

a " metronome " is very important to increase you speed and develop your hand muscles and
technique

this is worth a look ( incremental metronome )

ayup james...and you're right.. life without the internet is unthinkable
if i drop a connection i break out in a sweat and start biting my fingernails

what about HOFNER/BURNS/HARMONY/HAYMAN/FRAMUS(i think some of these are defunct now ) ...These are all ' brands ' as opposed to the chinese ' git makers' that just churn out generic copies
i suppose a brand name is a bit like ' a designer label ' or an 'household name'
never heard of sivertone though

ps does anybody want to buy a 1973 hayman 2020..never been played and as rare as a playable chinese copy of an unbranded tiawan banjo
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_gu … ufacturers

a good question is : what did hank marvin play ( brand ) before mr richards imported him a red strat?
...and its not in the list
