i would class that as doing his own version of the song ( albeit a very good version )...
if chuck berry did it ...it would be different again...but only his version
they would still be cover versions...so why do they say to some artists
' you made that your own '...as opposed to other artists.. even though
the've done completely original versions
if bb king had made a complete bodge of it.. would people still say he made it his own??
who coined the expression in the first place...simon cowell maybe

if somebody ' makes a song their own ' does that mean nobody else can of that particular
song esp if its at the same gig ( does happen )

when people say ( esp so called music experts / talent show judges )..'you made that
song your own'...do they mean...you cant emulate the original cause your not  good
enough...you cant be arsed to learn the proper version...or you've stolen the copyright so tough
shit .... or is it something else ??

how can there be so many complaints and accusations against jimmy saville
over the last 40 years...  have been ignored or shunned ..i bet blackmail
will be the next thing to manifest itself....or a shed full of 'jump on the bandwagon
theres a few quid to be made here
' brigade...being prosecuted for wasting police
time..tax payers money and deformations of .............errrm?

the BBC ??????? the government?????  all this beggars belief FFS

is debate the wrong word ..should it be ...whateveryousayi'mgoingtodisagreebecausei'mapoliticiansobolloxitsabouttimeyoupissedoff

my strat is a black1990 japanese squire series...modded with a bridge humbucker
and flloyd...it has a custom earvana nut and an i-tune internal tuner
i fitted the humbucker to get rid of the noise when recording..all in all
its very user friendly with a low action..the flloyd is blocked so tuning is a doddle
and very accurate..it still isnt a gibson though

thanks for offering to buy me a gretch but it isnt a gibson
can i have the money towards a '225'

re issue ? if thats a re issue of a 1963 telecaster ...then theres a few lawsuits pending

my gits are ...vintage / fender strat / hayman / .....the vintage is great to play but looks horrible
the strat is great to play but is not a gibson and the hayman is just horrible but worth
a small fortune...i use the vintage when gigging with the fender as a backup ( string breakages )
but use the fender when recording because it has humbuckers

edit: the hayman has never been played in 40 years the frets are untouched
it is a 2020 so if anybody wants it please shout

if its a genuine gibson its definitely not crap.........its just the shape
you 've got an sg ....its your best mate ...dont be a bigamist for something thats a lot older (??)
and isnt as sexy as what youve got now..................unless you can make an offer
then make a good profit on it...........well............

right then...get your gloves on...gibson turns out the best guitars ever ...my aim
is to have a les paul ( nice and gentle with modest curves ) ...give me a minute ..........................................................................I CANT SEE THE POINT OF (sorry )cubist type shapes for guitars
( or any other instrument for that matter ..unless its a chromatic  rubic cube )

what would you think of the shape if it was a fender

is it right to dig a person up ..then hang draw and quarter him for actions ( allegedly )  he has ( probably
/ maybe /might have done ) ????????? ... he cant defend himself.....perhaps jamesd can
explain the moral and legal issues of the unfolding scandal..and the can of worms
that will manifest itself
