Brother James, I have meditated on this and enlightenment followed. The test lies in realising that the Big Man would never ask us to try and forgive those who listen to house music. It's like forgiving someone for buying an Alexandra Burke CD - it simply can't be done.

Yes I know what you mean  - i think the problem lies with us being such a small community so we all get involved with every post.

If we had more people then there would be more theory chat for the theory lovers and more other guitar chat for the others. Generally with forums, people check the category or categories that they like and disregard the others but as I said, here we are a much tighter community (which is nice!)

There's no problem Olly, This is a great  forum, with some great members,  default/cool

In my opinion there's a bit to much technical and theory being discussed, which, (don't get me wrong is brilliant if that's what you are into)
But myself I'm completely self taught from day one, guitar and chord book, So have no understanding of theory, tabs, scales,
But that said, I do believe I can play, like I've said before, nothing special but it pleases me,
I think my main focus is on rhythm and melody,
But in my mind the modern young guitarist is more focused on technical ability and speed, so therefore needs to know more about what he or she is actually doing,  default/smile
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My main inspiration was without a doubt, Bert Weedon, in the late 50's early 60's, I got my very first acoustic around 1964,
A small sized Stella, (probably worth a bob or two now) but when I couldn't just play it, I smashed it in temper, (what a brat default/roll )

A burglar broke into a house one night.

    He shined his flashlight around,
looking for valuables when a voice in the dark said,
    'Jesus knows you're here.'

He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight
    off, and froze.

When he heard nothing more, after a bit,

he shook his head and continued.

Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires,

clear as a bell he heard 'Jesus is watching you.'

Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically, looking
for the source of the voice.

Finally, in the corner of the room,

his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.

'Did you say that?' he hissed at the parrot.

'Yep', the parrot confessed, then squawked,

'I'm just trying to warn you that he is watching you.'

The burglar relaxed. 'Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you ?'

    'Moses,' replied the bird.

    'Moses?' the burglar laughed.
'What kind of people would name a bird Moses?'

'The kind of people that would name a Rottweiler Jesus.'

Mine was an old Levin Jumbo, in 1970, I gave a mate 3 quid for it, and I kept it until 1978 when I got a new Yamaha FG 160, which I still own to this day.

Hi Don, I had a logitech webcam, and didn't think it was so good, so got shot of it, Personally I find a fairly decent camcorder on a tripod has everything you'll ever need, sound quality is usually pretty good. default/smile

It takes 7 seconds for food to pass from mouth to stomach. A human hair can hold 3kg. The length of a penis is 3x the length of the thumb. The femur is as hard as concrete. A woman's heart beats faster then a man's. Women blink 2x as much as men. We use 300 muscles just to keep our balance when we stand. The woman has read this entire text. The man is still looking at his thumb........ default/big_smile
