I got a nice letter of the Inland Revenue containing a cheque (was tempted to frame it - but decided it could be put to greater good) so the ticket for download has been ordered  default/big_smile

I've also got a hotel booked, can't believe how many places where already booked up...

Just hoping the ticket will arrive a bit earlier this time (was the day before last time!)

Thanks - you too...

Had a quiet christmas, although sadly not played the guitar much - despite being off work - sometimes I think ,when you think, you've got plenty of time to do things you do less LOL

Hmm - yes this is sometimes the problem with the chains, they seem to loose all concept of personal service...

Mind you that said, one of local independent guitar shops who does also sell a lot of stuff on ebay, had the the schecter damien elite in which I wanted (this was before I got the special) and it was the same price in the shop as it was on ebay with free shipping, so I asked for a discount - bearing in mind that they had ebay / paypal fees & shipping costs, for a cash purchase in the shop, and they refused to knock anything off!

Think the guitar was about £460, if they'd have taken £10 off I'd have had it...

When I got my ESP from an independent, it was already reduced, and they knocked a further £60 off when I asked for a discount...

Nightmare!  I agree with Olly, see what they come back with, but on the other hand, would you loose your deposit at Dawson's if you pulled out?

I bought this about 6 months ago, then I could keep it in drop D, as the ESP's floyd rose meant changing tunings was a complete pain.  I'd heard good things about the Schecters, and originally started off looking at the Omen, or Damien, these had basswood bodies, but they seemed to sound a bit feeble after the ESP, as I think they had diamond pickups.  Then I saw the Special....

Its got a mahogany body, with a quilted maple top, rosewood fretboard, 24 frets, and EMG HZ humbuckers. Oh and it is a hard tail too  default/big_smile

The picture doesn't do the colour justice - its called "vampire moon" and is a dark red, with black running through it - sounds awful, but looks nice in the flesh.

It does actually play more smoothly than the ESP, although my criticism of it, is that I find the neck a bit thick - after the ultra thin ESP, but when I held a telecaster, it seems narrower than that.

I had decided to sell it, as I was using the ESP all the time, but picked it up to tune it before a friend came round to jam the other night - and decided I liked it again.. So its staying for the moment...

Ermm at a guess - basil and coriander for the pizza & spag, and for the taco, I'd guess at chilli powder, and tumeric...

I'm not a very good cook tho - more of a ready meal person...

At the expense of sounding dim, whats the difference between a normal acoustic and a classical acoustic?
