a metronome will help you keep time, play to a steady tempo, also widely used by us at Unit 8 Recording Studio http://unit-8-recording-studios.co.uk sessions for same purpose

yes i would definitely go the computer route

i think you should get decent video editing software then record the music into your computr then sync up audio with camerea footage, then delete camera audio for best results, check out 1 of my vids here http://youtu.be/zp_l1qgiDP4
