Hi Labaggos and welcome.

Not sure I follow you - F# and E are both in the major scale of B . . .

Imagine a similar riff in the key of A - A, Em, D (pretty common)- then move these up two semitones - B, F#m, E

The Norman ST40CW retails at less than the M225 but the quality is not the same by all accounts. Of course, that does not mean that the Norman is not a good guitar . . . it really depends on your budget.

Are you a guitarist yourself?

Hi lottie. I have not played this myself but I have heard nothing but positive reviews about it. It is considered to be excellent value for money.

Hi Hobbes.

Yeah, I think it's very easy to get stuck in a rut sometimes. Applies to all facets of life, not just guitars!!! First thing, as with anything else, is learn to say "F**k it" and start anew.

I would suggest trying to find some basic sheet music from a favourite band so as to keep you interested - this is readily and freely available on the web (for now  ), a quick google search will turn something up, for example "free Beatles tabs" or some such thing. That is of course assuming that you can read tabs and have access to chord charts. If not, once again, there is much free stuff on the web - google "free chord chart" or something.

I know you said your level was basic - how basic?

What was the best concert you've ever been to and why? Although it is very tough and difficult to say anything but I can forget "1993 Metallica".

Metallica, 1993!!!

I was in Bangkok at the time, caught them at the National Football Stadium - fantastic. It was my first concert ever - you never forget your first time.

The bridge is slightly different on a classical guitar - the strings appear to be tied to the bridge rather than slotting into a hole and locked in place with whadjamacallums (the pin thingys).

My wife recently inherited a beautiful classical guitar which is badly in need of new strings. Thing is, I've never restrung a classical guitar and it looks quite complicated and very different from stringing an acoustic. Can anyone offer any advice?

I was taught never to put steel strings on a classical guitar - the neck is not designed for the tension . . .
