Hi to everyone. Just starting out on this long long road that is learning the guitar. I have always wanted one, never had the time or money. But New year , I said, this year is the time. So I have always loved the Strat shape, so bought a 3 col Sunburst Squire. Very nice for a beginner. But like anything I do, it was not a proper one, so I bought, in bits, a lovely 3 Col sunburst Strat with rosewood neck, and put it all together. I learnt how to sort the truss rod out, bridge/string height and intonation, tremelo spring tension, stringing etc. Now enjoying tuition.
So HI to all, going to be picking a few pointers up on beginers strumming. I'm 46, so teaching an old dog new trick, my fingures dont move as fast as they did.
Any good sounding strumming ideas, most welcome
cheers
Martin
Well, since I am 45, my fingures do not move as quick as you guys who have been playing since you were 10, but, getting there. Do a bit of 12 bar blues shuffle, bits and pieces, chords A C D F G comfortably now, with others not comfortably, ie. damn well hurts the hand. But enjoying it.Like doing the strumming bit as it is easier, and you can make a noise. I loved putting the strat together from parts. Sound OK. Probably buying one complete would be better, but at least I know how it all works now, and how to tune it properly. Only started in Feb 08, so ealy days...
cheers
