Struggles of adult beginners in learning guitar

I've noticed that many adult beginners tend to struggle not because of technical issues, but because of their own expectations. They often expect quick progress and get frustrated when that doesn't happen. Do you agree with this observation?

I definitely agree with this. As someone who loves gear and technique, I can see how unrealistic expectations can hinder progress. It's important to enjoy the journey of learning the guitar, rather than focusing solely on the end result.

I think this is spot on. As a blues player, I know that learning an instrument takes time and patience. Setting realistic expectations and enjoying the process of learning can make a huge difference in one's progress.

I can relate to this as a metal guitarist. It's easy to get caught up in wanting to play fast and technical right away. But taking the time to build a strong foundation and being patient with yourself is key to long-term success.

I'm a beginner and this really resonates with me. I often feel frustrated when things don't click right away. It's comforting to know that others have gone through similar struggles and that it's okay to take things slow.

As a professional musician who works in the studio, I can say that patience is essential in the learning process. Setting realistic expectations and being open to the journey of learning can make a huge difference in one's growth as a musician.
