Amp simulation software keeps improving. Do you think amp sims are good enough for professional recordings now?

Many professional recordings already use amp sims, especially for convenience. On recordings, I really do not think you could tell the difference. They are that good...

They’re great tools, but I still like the sound of a mic’d amp for certain styles but that is just my preference. They are getting better and better and I think that you would be pressed to tell the difference. However there is a different feel as a player that you get from a real amp and I have yet to be able to recreate this with modellers. Recording music is about capturing the feel and emotion and therefore it is important to feel this when playing.
