Struggling with Fat Fingers

Post by sam54 »

Hi everyone,
So I have seen other threads with concerns over fat fingers and nearly all the replies are always saying how it's just practice but even playing just one string using the smallest possible area of ringer finger tip it's seemingly impossible for it to not be touching another string.
The funny thing is, I'm not even overweight, my hands are just this way naturally despite having a BMI of 23.
Do I need a guitar with a wider fret board or can I still adjust my positioning?

Some of the worlds best guitarists had fat fingers. It really comes down to adjusting your technique - but it is definitely achievable with a standard guitar

It is just the case of getting used to putting your fingers in the right place and adjusting your hand accordingly.

As mentioned, there are many really successful players that have larger fingers that are perfectly able to play the guitar!

Keep trying and you will get there!
