Looking to Ease Back into Playing After a Year Off
Hey everyone! I picked up guitar about three years ago and was pretty dedicated for a couple of years. Unfortunately, I had a mishap and broke my $700 Les Paul semi-hollow about a year ago, which really put a damper on my motivation. I still have a budget-friendly $150 Les Paul and want to get back into it, but I’m unsure where to start. Any suggestions?

First off, I’d recommend checking the setup on your cheap Les Paul. Even budget guitars can play surprisingly well with the right adjustments. Make sure the action is comfortable, and consider upgrading the strings to something better—like a set of Ernie Ball Slinkys or D'Addario. It might not be a $700 guitar, but you can still get decent sound and feel out of it. Also, maybe invest in a good tuner and a metronome; those tools can really help you get back into the groove.
