Hey everyone, I've been digging into guitar tone lately, and I keep hearing mixed opinions about how much the type of wood used actually affects the sound. I recently played an alder body guitar and a mahogany one, and I felt like they had really different tones, but I can't quite put my finger on why. Some say it makes a huge difference, while others think it’s all in the pickups and amp settings. If you’ve got experience with different woods, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Hey Lee, that's a great question! I’ve had similar experiences switching between different wood types. Alder tends to give a brighter, more punchy tone, while mahogany has that warm, rich sound. I think personal preference plays a big part; it really depends on the style you're going for!
