Struggling with Band Dynamics: Any Tips?

Hey everyone, I've recently started jamming with a couple of mates, and while it's been a blast, I can't help but feel a bit lost with some of the dynamics. We all have different styles and influences, and sometimes it feels like we're pulling in different directions. Like, I'll suggest a riff and one of them wants to turn it into a ballad, while another thinks it should be a heavy rock tune. It's great to have those creative discussions, but I worry we're losing focus.

How do you guys manage when collaborating? Any tips for keeping things cohesive while still allowing for everyone's input? Have you had experiences where it just clicked, or where it fell apart? Would love to hear your stories!
