Trying Out Some Unconventional Guitar Techniques
Hey everyone, I've been playing for a few years now and I’m starting to feel like I want to shake things up a bit. I keep hearing about unconventional techniques that can lead to unique sounds, but I’m not really sure where to start. I’ve tried some basic fingerpicking and hybrid picking, but I’m curious if anyone has some cool techniques that might not be widely known. I’d love to hear what weird or unusual methods you’ve found that really work for you. Any tips or examples would be great!

If you’re looking for something unconventional, have a go at using a bow on your guitar strings like they do with violins! It creates some mad sounds that can really stand out in a mix. Just make sure you have a good pickup or effects to help shape that sound!

I reckon you could also try some percussive techniques, like using your body or the guitar body itself for beats. It adds a nice groove to your playing. Just experiment and see what feels right for you. It's all about feeling the music!

Some unconventional techniques worth considering are circular picking or even slap bass style on the guitar. These can produce some fascinating textures. I suggest looking up some tutorials or videos to get a feel for them before diving in. It's important to balance experimentation with some foundational techniques, though.
