Worn-in vs. New: What's Your Sound Preference?
Hey everyone, I've been having a bit of a dilemma lately. I've got my eye on a new guitar that looks stunning and has got brilliant reviews, but a mate of mine swears by his vintage model that’s been through the wars. He says the sound is just richer and more alive compared to brand new instruments. I’ve played both kinds, and while I appreciate the clarity of a new guitar, there’s something about that well-played sound that’s really appealing too. I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else has had a similar tug-of-war between the two? What do you all prefer and why? Is it all about the nostalgia or is there something tangible in the sound that makes the old ones better? Cheers!

Worn-in vs. New: What's Your Sound Preference?
I totally get where you're coming from, Newmusician93. There's just something about a guitar that's been played in, you know? The wood settles, and I reckon it gives a warmer tone. I had a new Strat once, and while it sounded great, my old Les Paul has this richness that just can't be matched. But on the flip side, I do love the clarity and precision of a fresh instrument. It all depends on what vibe you're going for!
