New Epiphone?
Hey All
I am looking to replace my beaten up old Stratocaster that I have had for a while now, but I am looking to replace it possibly with an Epiphone. I usually play Classic/Blues Rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Hendrix, etc), Grunge/Hard Rock (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Muse, etc) or some more Alternative/Softer bands (Radiohead et similar)
So far I have looked at three different Epiphones: Firebird, Les Paul Oxblood and Wildkat.
I was wondering which one people thought was best/best suited or if anyone had any ideas on other guitars that are under £300 that would be good for the job.
Thanks in advance.

I am a collector of budget guitars.
My advise would be non of the above try to find a Samick Greg Bennett.
They are very well made and in my humble opinion put Epiphone and other brands, such as vintage to shame. At one time Samick manufactured Epiphone guitars.
However, they are extreamly hard to get hold of in the UK with only a small few shops retailing them.

I found mine at:

They are very helpful people and claim they can get an AV7 for £350.
Give a Samick ago you might just be surprised.

The Explorer has caught my eye, especially a Korina that I have found for £299, but dudes I know who don't play metal complain that it has too heavy a vibe, though I will have look at it personally before I make any judgements.
I do love Strats and would love another, so I will definitely have an eye open for one.
