Before blasting licks

Post by surfville »

what do you usually do when you play guitar? do you shred up instantly or warm up first? well common sense would say the try to run few times on scales first before engaging to much more rigorous ones. this way you will minimize the risk of finger sore. and some injuries..

Yes waming up is important. I must admit I do not tend to do this and it has resulted in some hand injuries before that meant I could not play guitar for a few weeks.

I am much more carfeul these days

warming up is a must and must be atleast 20 mins--tht to non stop,,thts how i proceed, i might also give up at times after warming up if i get bored, but i almost never skip those first 20 mins
again i follow a lot of patters and keep playin at a constant speed, not too fast not too slow

luckily, i havent experienced an injuries because of not warming up.
but when i don't, especially when not playing for a long time, i can't scretch my finger as far as i used to and the sound is not clean.
So, i did warmed up before playing at least for 15 minutes.
and good song for after warm-up?
try Romanza. if you can play this damn clean after warm up then go ahead, you're ready!

individuals have a varying tolerance some will have a tougher finger than the others. but as of now i think it is good to just warm up first. Yeah i do agree with that first 20 it is important.
