I love the look of the Les Paul. I love what it stands for as a rock guitar. I know the SG could be considered the same but I am not a fan of the shape at all.
All the guitars I have ever owned have been based around the strat shape in one way or another! Which is a bit strange
I am turning to the SG it not just because all my life I have listened to ACDC.
My new vintage, although having a baseball bat of neck, on the bridge pick up sounds so bright with a hint of a growl which seems to suit my ears better.
Imagine if the words of Imagine ever came true.....

Do you think you stay away from LP look a likes because you think they would never live up to your expectation?

I like the telecaster mainly because I have one. But I've own a strat and a Gibson standard LP too. Apparently the telecaster won , I no longer have the other 2. If possible in the future though, I'd like to have Heritage guitars make my guitar.
Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 / 24 all the way. Hard tail or trem, you cant beat them. More curves than a page 3 model (and probably slightly more intelligent )
The SE models are nice too but dont quite have it in the sexy, sexy stakes.

Or any other shape that is out there and why.
