I’ve been trying different ways to promote my music on social media, and recently I started posting more behind-the-scenes clips instead of just finished track previews. Things like short clips of recording vocals, experimenting with sounds, or even talking about how a song idea started.
Surprisingly, those posts seem to get more comments and shares than the polished promo videos. It feels like people enjoy seeing the process, not just the end result. I’m wondering if others here have noticed the same thing or if it depends on the genre and audience.
Has anyone had better engagement with behind-the-scenes content?

I’ve noticed the same thing. I think people connect more when they see the effort and personality behind the music. It makes them feel like they’re part of the journey rather than just being marketed to.
