Some players improve faster playing with others, while others prefer practising solo. Which works best for you?

I have always played and practiced alone and I am sure this has hindered my progression. There is always something to learn from others no matter what level. So if you get a chance to play with others then I would say definitly go for it.

In terms of actual practice then you should always have some kind of stuctured practice plan in place. And I would say this is something you would likely only be able to stick to unless you are dedicating some specific practice alone time. So in these instances then alone is better. But work in some practice with people also!

A mix works best for me. Solo practice builds skills, but playing with others builds musical awareness.

Playing with others pushes me out of my comfort zone and helps my timing.

I prefer practising alone first so I feel confident before playing with other musicians.
