I think for what you get on some pedals, it comes out to be a true bargin. But although I haven't seen /used one of any custom made stomp boxes, they do seem to be a bit over priced for what you get.

They always have been overpriced I think. I don't have any at the moment (limited resources and plenty of hobbies!) but I had one of the four-in-one sets a few years ago (whatever happened to it, come to think of it) because that was the most cost-effective system.

I think they can be very expensive. I have always tried to buy my boss pedals second hand. The older Japanese models are known to have a much better sound than the more recent models - they don't make them like they used to I guess!

My most recent pedal was the Boss RC20L loop pedal which I did buy new. It was expensive but it is really useful to get jamming to something quickly.
