Not particularly. His pro-war policies were very unpopular.

Yes I agree. Especially as the grounds for war were then proven to be very shaky!

but how much is your sales tax when you go to the grocery store

VAT - 17.5 per cent. And it's to be increased.

Is it to keep everyone in a master/slave society there

I can't possibly even see how anyone can save their money if they are on a medium salary of lets say $40 grand a year

And there is reduced VAT on the likes of gas and electricity which is taxed at 5%
