Are there great differences in playing between guitarists? I see there are variations in playing between guitarists when I watch them playing live.

Oh sure, there are all sorts of styles.

What sort of music do you play yourself? Welcome to the forum, by the way :D

I think the main differences between any guitarist is when you can recognize them by their signature sound
my lyrics, my guitar and my imagination

I learned guitar for a while from a guitarist who played for films in the Tamil language in South India. Then I kept practicing whatever I learned.

The style if a guitarist can also be influenced by his or hers character and influence the way they look on stage :).

It also depends on what difference are you talking about :)

all musicians are like fingerprints....unique and cant be copied ( not 100% )
so you are who you are .... if you can't play a clapton riff properly..be sure
100% certain he cant play one of your riffs properly...so be yourself

if you're covering a song play it in your style ..dont worry if you can't get it note perfect
just try to keep the same groove /feeling...................then one day someone will try to copy you

and we'll give them the same advice
