satisfaction by the stones would never have happened if it wasn't for the " fuzz box "
loads of epic riffs have been created using FX.....for an electric git player some sort of
' colouration ' will always inspire creativity ....but a nice sounding acoustic can also be very inspiring in its own right...so if a sound plucks the right strings ..use it

capacitors are used to modify the sound ..not to make it better
in a passive circuit the capacitor [i%

for some reason my post has screwed up???????????
salient points:
a working voltage of 100v ( or any excessive wv ) is irrelevant in guitar electrics
tolerance is of no consequence ( most 10% capacitors are within 5% in any case )+ the value is subjective
your best natural tone is not to interfere with the p/u o/p in the first place ..ie scrap the tone circuits
but if altering your gits  tone is what you like to do
read this... but... dont be tempted to spend £10 on a filtering capacitor

http://www.singlecoil.com/shop.html

if you want a really flexible tone control use a 12 way rotary sw and wire 12 caps of different
values( at each pole )...giving a different tonal sounds at each position of the switch

i did this 25 years ago ....my git playing didn't get any better  ( or my sound )
but ...when it came to soldering ...bring it on

pickups??

shit hot git player and showman

nice git ...by the looks of it ..its got a transducer and on board electronics
so plug it in just like an ordinary electric git...if you want a natural sound go
very steady on the fx ..defo no fuzz....but a small amount of compression / chorus should never go amiss...having said that ..if you want a fuzzed up highly sustained..with loads of
echo reverb flanging and ADT ...sound.........why not...theres no rule book anywhere!

2 never scratch the itch

i have never smoked one since ( 15 years )...never ( ever ) scratched the itch

be a twat ...get as fat as a pig.....these can be sorted when you've kicked the habit...no prob
( unless you're a miserable ba***rd and a fat **** to start with )

having said that.. if you are you'll have no side effects ( jammy fu****ers )

go for it...
play the track so far ( post 48 ) and record it directly into your sequencer / recorder
create the voc track and post ...with and without the backing+no effects

posting 'with' will give an idea of how you see it
posting 'without' ( and no effects ) will allow the voc to be edited etc if req

i had trouble with google chrome uploading...but it was sorted ( olley )
what browser are you using...contact olley for a fix

it doesn't necessarily need another string of chords ( not yet ??).....what it needs is say... a good git riff
or a voc to stir it up a bit......
come on..........if you cant record on a computer and create an mp3... POST...so it can be sorted!

james ....just play the chords what sound right ...i ( we ) can work them out by ear
and yes ....a bit of theory would never go amiss

if you download and run powertab ( freeware ) ...it has a really good chord section where you can
make your own chords and it will give you an option of names..plus all the chords there ever was

menu-->guitar-->chord diagram list

ie if you enter x02220 it will tell you its A
if you enter 002220 it will tell you its A/E
if you enter 202220 it will tell you its A/F#
if you enter 024144 it will tell you piss of and go and learn D (joke)
and so on

this could be the next song ...when you've sorted reaper send the acc/voc  etc
and lets put it together ( if thats ok with you? )...but for now try to put a voc to the backing above if poss. if we dont get anything we will have to scrap it and move on...collaboration is the main man....this is not a way of life ...just an experiment

(3 replies, posted in Your Recordings)

this is a  good song in its own right ..is complete.. and needs to be treated as such ..in the mean time for the sake of the collaboration thread...is there any chance of creating a vocal that
might fit the feel and chords that james has got so far..??...the only difference is its electric
instead of acoustic. ..a big ask...but try it...maybe!

i cant imagine george formby playing standing by the lamp post with an sg and a whammy bar

out of a 5 string banjo ( unless it had humbuckers on )
