it would be nice to get some audio on your licks
i agree
mp3 examples would make it a lot more user friendly...and make it more able to connect with the theory

the first gift was myrrh ....the second gift was gold.... and the third gift was somethin' frank sent
yeh merry xmas rock on♪♪
you're lucky you dont have global warming over there...here its compulsory
califonia sounds a bit like manchester with sand
merry xmas
wj
is it hagstorm or hagstrom ??
http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitars/El … ={keyword}
im thinking of getting a semi accoustic... anyway ..this looks good ..go for it ...but...let the wife
pick the finish...else its whips wipes and chains..and you'll walking everywhere
i thing hagstrom used to make a transparent guitar in the 70's
can somebody explain the point of modes and give me a practical example in a simple song...
etc
prod prod ???
loads of tabs here...just google for tabs ...you'll have enough to see you through this bout
of global warming...ignore the bribes also
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/mis … s_tabs.htm
A pentatonic scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave
http://www.guitarlessonworld.com/lessons/lesson27.htm for more detail
so what sort of bribes are they then?
UK: if this current weather is a result of ' global warming ' lets hope and pray it doesn't get any
hotter else we'll all freeze to death
the top switch is the pickup selector
the first knob ( nearest the strings ) is the master volume
the second 2 knobs are active tone controls ( adjust for required tone--probabley bass and treble )
the small toggle switches are the tone 'Q' controls which adjust the width of the bass and treble from
a fixed centre freqency ( probabley 200hz/2k )
use these again for variation in tone
i think this is correct but im not 100% sure
probably a good session of trial and error wouldnt go amiss
you say the toggles have 3 positions they are probably 3 fixed ( Q ) settings ( width )
you really need a circuit diagram to see how its configured
or better still send it to me and i will give it a solid 12months testing
can somebody explain the point of modes and give me a practical example in a simple song...
i dont wittingly use modes but i have no problem with my music
..how would it help me.....please reply as if i am a complete beginner ( not too complicated )
would it be possible to have threads you are participating in coming up first ( new posts at the top )or would that
be too complicated....thats what i would add ...everything else is fine
instructor ..forget about the goodbyes ..theres bound to be more disagreements
and at least everybody's honest...and you can help a lot of people..so back to business eh
Yep.
Now back to the thread.
i know sonwriters like new words ..try looking up 'tact'
when you record set cubase record levels to just peaking with the loudest part of the vocal
..so shout a bit and make sure you dont go over.
then insert a com/limiter...to make sure if you do go over they will be suppressed
they use a brickwall limiter for this( google it )
you can add a tadge of compression ( to level the highs and lows[dynamics] )but not to much say<6db
yes you have to run the com/limiter while recording
you can use vst or external hardware if you got it
if your mic is dry ( no external reverb ) then you're ok
someimes people like to record with reverb ..but thats put onto the foldback mix ..its not recorded
onto a cubase track

theoretically im the same as every other guitar lover...but if somebody sat in
front of me ( probably the devil ) with a wadfull of unlimited cash..ermm....it would have to be a gynormas amount
on second thoughts i dont think he'd have enough..but he knows ( definitely ) where i live
"get in front of me satan"
i always go for a condenser but the sm58 is a good dynamic..in fact there are loads of suitable
mics..google for interesting articles
re compressor: busy studios use compression ( top notch gear ) thats very transparent ..where
time is at a premium and good results are required quickly...but if you get a nice clean vocal first
( no reverb or echo and minimum eq'ing ) you can process it in any way afterwards
all ' in your face ' vocals depend on compression/ limiting..and not so much reverb
but you can do this to your clean vocal
Blimey... I didn't realise my playing was so bad that you have to resort to bribery!!!
nice one...but what would it be
I just kind of make up my own stuff, but I do steal other peoples musical ideas and create something from them
nice riff good attitude...rock on♪♪
nearly every body ( 99.9999999999999%) is influenced by somebody
other peoples ideas are a good inspiration ...then put your own stamp on it...and ..you've got 8%
it sounds really original...which it is.. nice one
and a satin finish.
??
i write in collaboration with other people always have done and always will...and i am always well
pleased with the results..it is a shared thing..but i also lean on riffs and production as much as the song itself
i wouldn't tag myself as a songwriter ( or a singer ) although i have written one or two songs
but its original finished tracks that i like to be involved with
thats a result of working in bands and recording studios for donkies years
some of paul simon 's tracks have been created using original backing tracks then adding melody/vocals
and they dont come much better than that
but everybody to their own...there is no right or wrong way it seems
ive never seen a ' hard v '...which is the most common?
when i say production i mean more instrument/effect orientated
ie synths/brass/strings etc etc type of stuff
your posted track is dominant vocal/guitar ..which i suppose is more relevant
to this part of the forum
sorry this is brief
