Wow what a tale.....Wish I was in folk law.

Last time I went Bradford bus staion and ask for a ticket to Japan I was told to set off swiming over land east. When I get to the sea , enter the sea and run north for 18 miles where a Uzbekistan Fright trian would pick my up and fly me Irland. Buy pre owned Boxer Shorts

Once in Irland I was told to go to the Trian staion and catch a plan that would sail me to Holland. Once in Holland I got stoned and the rest of the trip is a blur. Secound hand Tampax

Hi

Over the past few months I have been teaching myself about electronics...Nice break from law.

So I have combined a tube screamer circuit with fuzz and got some thing nice...

I can get my mate to hand paint them....the fender snob.. As he owns an arts and craft shop and he can paint.... I will post some sound clips over the next week. I have some other pedals in the pipe line... I have also been working on Paf style pick ups but they would work out expensive as i do wind them by hand....round and round it goes default/mad .

Getting the tension right is a right pain but so far results have been very good.

I have a Samick Greg Bennett which has some genuine Wilkinson PAF style pick ups fitted. These are not the pick ups found on e-bay, rather the ones he puts in his Fret King Green Label range. They sound combined with the Samick guitar great, a friend of mine that is a Fender pre 1965 purest usually comes to jam and will only play my Gibson SG, yet these days he comes in sits down and plugs the Samick in.

The Wilkinson's in both our opinions separates the stings better, is more defined, and how I play seems to extenuate the highs very nice giving a better clarity to the cords.

So today I went and got my SG out and played it and thought I should play this more. To be honest it just plays better.

I would like some advice.....as anyone every changed the pick ups in a SG if so to what. As anyone tried the alnico 8 magnet in one. This seems to be a favored thing on SD forum.

Just in case you thought why not put some more Wilkinson PAFs in the SG...The SG is full of treble and the Wilkinson's pronounce the highs, I think the overall sound would be to brittle.

I took Trev Wilkinson's advice and removed mine from my Ruby and you get a much brighter sound. It sort of sounds compressed,

Yet in Annie i have 2, 0.15 Russian paper and oil and they work well.

Love effects for some composing and no effects on others like Ricky b said its what floats yer boat.

From what I read, there are only 12 factories in the far east that produce the guitars we all play from that area. None of the so called manufacturers own there own. There is the exception of Cort and Samick. Both are based in Korea and again if you read the  reviews on the Internet there guitars are held in high regard they are beginning to come to par with Jap made stuff.

I think with all far east guitars mass produced, it is pot luck if you get a good one. However, look at dusenburg and Fret King green label. All there parts are made in Korea, Samick or Cort i would think then they are assembled in Germany and England respectively.

What year where the JHS vintage????

They have according to reviews got better since Trev Wilkinson got involved and all production has moved to China from Vietnam.

He started around 2006...

Just while we are on the topic of Les Pauls/Clones. Any one had a bash at a Cort Classic Rock 280. From what I have read they are of good quality,  have a true maple top and a vaneer cap.

My Samick AV6 (Les Paul Clone) as about a 4mm Maple top. You can see this from the routing inside the control cavity, is this sort of standard for a Les Paul?

Different, like the pick up system.
