James - that's obviously where I've been going wrong in my life! Not wearing the high vis vest... no wonder I'm single...

Well its download this weekend - I'm just going for the Sunday, so at least my ears will have time to recover before the big 4  default/big_smile  default/big_smile

I'm really excited I've managed to get a day ticket for the Friday (2nd round ballot!) to see Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer & Anthrax.

Never seen Metallica live before - and have really wanted to, so looking forwards to it!

Only found out I'd got the ticket last night, so then had the challenge of finding a hotel that wasn't fully booked, but found one in the end...

5 weeks and counting   default/big_smile  default/big_smile

will do :-)

I actually don't subscribe to any, I might see stuff on the aol/  msn pages when I'm checking my email, but I don't watch the news or read any papers.

Most of it is somewhat depressing, although it does lead to a few embarrassing moments, when people start discussing events I have no knowledge of, but I can live with that... default/smile

I've heard people say good things about the book "blues you can use"

I think I managed to work it out in the end default/smile .. but I still have trouble with the combined D/F#  chord..  your thread about your elbow made me rethink how I was doing it - because hooking my thumb over the top of the neck was really hurting. So now I am up to the stage where I can do the song ok but hesitate on that one chord change...  more practice of the fingering change I guess. default/smile

How long does it take you to master a new song?

Yep - don't ignore pain...

The only thing to do really is sit and practice the change into the d/f and from that to the other chord, and then gradually try and do it a little quicker, it will come, just takes time  default/smile

How long does it take to master a song - well it depends how complex it is... I've been working on 21 guns for a week and its not quite right, its getting closer, but I'm not good enough to play along with it yet... (well I was ok with the simplified version I was doing before my lesson, but I've been given the correct version now!)

Although I did have a mini brain wave (it happens occaisionally)i could connect to any speaker with an mp3 jack, so now thinking ipod docking station, although I'm going to test this out first with some pc speakers..

My guitar teacher has gone independent and I know need to take my amp with me to my lessons, so I was wondering about getting a small microamp, that I can leave in the car, and just use for lessons.

I'd looked at the orange micro crush, and wondered if anyone had tried one?

I've got 2 Line 6 Spider IV's so don't really want to spend much, just looking for a cheap, portable soln.

thanks
