My favorite effect for electric guitar is wah-wah effect. I am planning to buy a Wah pedal for my electric guitar. It sounds really great when you play a lead with wah effect.

What sort of amps do bands like Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, The Who, AC/DC and other 80's metal band use? I know they all don't use the same, but I have heard a lot use Marshall for that British rock sound and then they throw a lot of gain on. Can anyone confirm, and were could I possibly get one of these?

Do you have your own band? I have recently made my own band which consists of a lead guitarist that is me, a bass guitarist, a rhythm guitarist and a drummer. We are still looking for a good DJ who can handle the juke box and play keyboard too.

I play keyboard other than guitar. Playing keyboard is some what similar to playing guitar and after learning to play guitar there is no need for learning keyboard, you can play it well without learning.

In the beginning, it is better to learn to play basic chords. 1 – 2 hours daily is more than enough for a beginner. Once you get used to chords then start playing lead.

Well mostly I download music and MP3 from P2P softwares, they are the best for mp3. Sometimes if I have to rip then I use jetAudio. I think it is best for ripping.

For acoustic guitar I use steel strings. They are best for the acoustic guitars and the sound they make is excellent. Nylon string is recommended for the beginners but I don’t like its sound.

Well there are plenty of guitar types but I like electric guitars since I like to play lead and electric guitars with the distortion are the best for the leads. Acoustic is good for playing chords.

I started playing guitar when I was 18. I know it’s quite late for start playing, the more early you start playing the more you gets perfect. But I didn’t take any classes, I learnt myself with the help of online tips and techniques.
