Nice vid Iain and it does look a sweet guitar and I like your presentation skills!.
I had no idea about that adjuster on the back! Adjusting the tremelo when changing guage of strings is a real pain! And that screw to lock it is a great idea!
My Ibanez has an edge tremelo though the whammy bar just kind of plugs into a hole which I quite like - do you find that your whammy constantly needs retightening or does it stay tight until you unscrew it?
well it looks like the C shape at 10th fret using your pinky on the top E at 10th fret also.
Then down to 5th and 3rd fret with the same shape.
I will have to spend more time to work it out exactly as not familiar with the song - is this the sort of thing the tabs indicate?
ok, well unfortunately I think I will be the only one on this board that is excited by this news but the band Thunder who I have been harping on about for ages are reforming for a one off gig at the High Voltage festival in July and I have tickets woohoo.
I thought that discovering Thunder after they split meant there was no hope of seeing them live and then I find out this.
I have never really been to a festival before. I am going on the one day that Thunder are playing but also Dream Theater are playing this day. I don't know any of their music but I have heard they are good.
Unfortuantely it does require a trek to London which I don't like the idea of but needs must!
Sounds good Alun - it is good that you inspiration seems to be flowing nicely at the moment.
Any plans to take this to the lyrics stage?
Well you certainly have this one down!
Hey and nice to see you pop by again.
I like your performance. How do you find writing the lyrics in English?
Well I am sure it will be worth the effort in the long run! It is rare that hard work doesn't eventually pay off!
Sounds good John - simple can be better! It is much easier finding that patch lead with a dodgy connection when you only have one or two pedals!
How come you are selling your Marshall?
Well I have been going to the gym this year as I mainly sit in front of a computer or the TV all the time and I also have a passion for beer so thought I should now try and make some effort!
Yes really sad news and quite a shock - was he ill or something?
when is this bubble going to ooze spill and hopefully disappear like an over active yellow headed pubity
skin eruption
Probably not for a while yet! Too many people seem to watch them, enjoy watching them, get well into them etc for it to die in the forseeable.
Shame - but there we go!
Hey and welcome to the forum!
I am really looking forward to it, Hopefully it will be recorded so will post results as and when
Look forward to that!
Doing it myself. And, collecting it in cash.
Sounds the best way! What kind of gigs are you playing and what music?
Cheers - I might see if I can check it out over the weekend and I will let you know!
but had some really good results from my Law degree.
Nice one James - have you completed your degree now or just part of it?
And well done from treating yourself. Looks good.
Never heard of this song or this band/player?
But checked it out on youtube and it is a really nice tune though crazily fast in places!
How far have you got with it?
Thanks for this.
So have you used Antares Autotune and still find Melodyne better or have you never compared the two?
I didn't think your band choice would have changed James! Are you really not listening to anything else at all at the moment?
Yes timing is a very hard part to get, especially as a beginner.
Nice Alun - that is good news!
What is the setup there? Just you and a vocalist? What kind of stuff you looking at playing?
I'm not too sure myself. The guitars I really want are are £600 - £1000 more than that so personally I would try and save more.
But there are loads of really really nice guitars out there that you could get for 1k!
use melodyne its a vst plug ( cubase 5 has this built in )...great for correcting pitching issues...
saves the chore of 'dropping in' to getperfect takes
So how natural sounding can you get this to be? Will any trained ear be able to detect it is being used or does it depend on how far out the vocal is in the first place as to how natural you can adjust?
which poses the question ...what is an awful voice????is there such a thing
I have wondered this myself. I think the number one thing that makes a voice sound awful is if it is out of tune. Apart from that I don't know - what do you think on that point?
To me a well written song is one that has something unique or special about it that other songs might not have.
This might be a really effective melody or lyric
More often than not though it comes down to the use of interesting chords that don't specifically belong to the key that fit effortlessly into the music.
So what is your definition of a well written song?
