Hi there
Welome to the forum!
You have a very professional sounding band there! Congratulations!
As far as the English goes, it is good but if you can certainly tell that the pronunciation is not 100% - NYC is certainly better. The other I struggle to understand what is being said.
If I can help more then please let me know and I will certainly try and help!
All the best with your band!
Excellent advice. Thanks!
I'm on holiday at the moment but as soon as I am back I will give it a go!
Welcome to the forum

The song was written by my brother, Nick, in 1983 and both my son and hubby, who play guitar would love to learn it in tribute to Nick. Although they both play, they're not able to wotk out all the chords themselves :-(
Hubby says he thinks it's capo'd or barred off, but I can't remember if it was.
Nick was an absolute genius with the guitar, and possessed a natural talent for playing it :-) There are some other songs on youtube of Nick playing - Phonebox Blues (self penned), a cover of 29 Palms and an hilarious cover of Yellow! But 'Control' is one of my favourites and if anyone can help with tabs for it, it would be wonderful!
Thank you :-)
I certainly prefer a low action myself suits my style of playing.
Are there actually any advantages to a high action?
Congratulations! Is this baby number 1?
Do you ever visit there? Is it completely back to normal there now, as in totally habitable?
I know so little on the subject!
When I first started working hard on the guitar I assumed that I couldn't really write songs because my guitar wasn't up to scratch,. Of course, I now know that this was not correct.
I admire the technically great guitarists(Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert etc) and I like their music but I wonder if I would like them so much if I wasn't a guitar player. I certainly would still like music so I would say I would prefer to be a super songwriter and an ok guitarists rather than the other way round.
Some good advice there Aussie. I am guilty of not specifically knowing what key I am in but just using patterns.
I find where it works and then I know the whole fretboard. I would prefer to get more familiar with thinking about what key I am in as it will help with composing. Patterns, of course, do not.
The three fret down the relative minor is a great tip. I have been counting on my fingers up 6 notes to work it out. Then I have to work out if it is a sharp of flat. 3 frets lover is a much better and quicker way so thanks!
At this rate you could save up every other month and get a new guitar by the end of the year!
Are you referring to the height of the bridge? Defining how high the strings are off of the fretboard?
I have heard of the automatic tuning - has anyone seen how well they work or not?

Sometimes less is more! especially if it suits your style of playing!
I have cut back on loads of effects for this very reason!
Thanks to everyone for posting. I really appreciate you all sticking around here. It is real hard to get subscribers but thanks to you guys we have a much better chance with daily guitar talk!
I will probably do another competition starting the middle of this month so stay tuned! Surely Mikey can't make it three times in a row?... or can he?
That is OK my friend as the competition is for 20 posts and you certainly exceeded this so thank you.
Number 3 it is...
drum roll......
It is Mikey again! What a lucky man!
Congrats Mikey
So the title for you is the start. That is interesting. I will give this a goo myself and try and get something started!
I use 9s as I find 10s too tough. I love how easy 8s are to play but I don't like the loss of decent tone.
So 9s are the compromise for me.
Sometimes I use a hybrid set whether the D, A and E are heavier but to be honest I didn't notice any difference.
I do have some branded polish that I got about 10 years ago. It is a tiny pot that is still half full! Either it was good value for money or I am quite lazy when it comes to cleaning my guitar...
Sorry but I have not drawn it yet.
I have the candidates ready. This time there were 4 people excluding myself of course, that filled the criteria.
So please post what number I should choose and this will be the winner. The next post will then define the winner.
Think carefully....
Whenever I try and think of lyrics they are always too literal. This is one of the aspects I am struggling with at the moment.
How do you even begin with your lyrics? What do you first write down?
I have a 15w amp and it is still ridiculously loud. I had hoped that I would be able to crank it to get the valve sounds without being deafened but in fact you can't. It is very comparable to my 50w valve amp.
I used to be in talks with someone who was designing a <1w valve amp specifically for this purpose. I never heard if he was successful but I have heard there are such products on the market.
Even under 1w I believe it will still be very loud, but probably could get away with reasonable playing levels but have that little valve pushed!
I can't say I even know what neck I have on mine. I have no idea of the difference - perhaps you can explain?
I think they can be very expensive. I have always tried to buy my boss pedals second hand. The older Japanese models are known to have a much better sound than the more recent models - they don't make them like they used to I guess!
My most recent pedal was the Boss RC20L loop pedal which I did buy new. It was expensive but it is really useful to get jamming to something quickly.
Currently I do not believe avatars are installed. I can add them if you really want.
I quite like it nice a plain and simple on the eye. Always up for feedback on improvements though!
Ha ha -brilliant! That is the only classical thing I know as well! I think I have probably played it a similar number of times!
Still, it is a good tune though and it is always a nice one to show off with!
I would also be very interested to know any recommendations for classical guitar pieces. I am looking for something I could learn that involved no singing and sounds impressive!
