Very warm welcome to you.
I'm really keen on trying to write songs - something I have never acheved but always longed to do.
Perhaps you can offer some assistance in how you go about writing music?

It's never too late to get back into playing - great stuff for doing it and good luck.
Welcome to the forum as well!
Thanks for joining and good luck with your site though I would ask you limit your advertising within the forum as it can become too much.
Why not put your site in your signiture then each post something you make will be a kind of advert without you advertising?
Thanks
A lot of players do not use their pinky much - Slash is another example but the important thing with these players is the fact they *can* use their pinky if they want and when needed.
This is only achieved by practicing using your pinky which myself, and I would guess a lot of other guitarists don't do until they realise sometimes it is needed
Hi Moth - Welcome to you - I agree with MikeyBoab - any guitar is great to get started on
Yes you can edit your signature in your profile page.
Welcome to the board.
This is a new concept to me, I have always felt tab is flawed because a lack of ability to show rhythm which is the most important factor of music.
This method could be an easy way to show timing and rhythm online.
Thanks for the post - very informative
This is where I struggle.
I know I have the ability to write music but I struggle with where to start.
How doy ou begin your music?
I also seem to suffer from not being able to enjoy music until it becomes familiar to me, so it means I struggle badly with wrting. I may be playing something I would really grow to appreciate but then too quick to pass it off as it's unfamiliar.
Am I alone on this one?
Yep I agree - I like Velvet Revolver and I like the new Gnr - both have something missing.
So the long awaited Chinese Democracy is finally here.
I have my copy and I have mixed feelings on it. Some of the songs are starting to grow more on me now I have listened to a it a few times though it's certainly no another appetite for destruction.
I think the guitaring is a little bit of a let down - Slash is missed.
What are your opinions on it?
This product has been amended now.
Thanks for highlighting it
Yes I think you have highlighted a slight error on the store.
I'll take a look into this one!
For your own benefit I have edited your email address as you will be inundated with spam.
Hope you don't mind and good luck.
Thanks for the spam - but no.
Hello and welcome!
Great news on beginning teaching - it can ber very rewarding!
Just relax into it. Start by thinking of the song melody in your head, then move onto humming it the you will be able to sing and play.
Just take it slowly, one step at a time. There are many exercises to get your hands synced together, but even playing scales using alternate picking will work.
use a metronome (you can even download free metronomes so no excuse) and play each note evenly and in time. Once you have a time mastered raise it up by one or two BPS and master that.
You will soon be in sync no problem
I think it is good to have some direction when practicing and playing and going through the RGT will guide you though I don't find it to be a particularly fun way of learning.
I guess it preference but I think there are better books out there - it is just fining ones that suit you
Hey welcome
Sounds like you like similar music to me. What do you think about the new GnR album out on Monday?
Guitar into marshall amp - crank
Where does it pop up from? the bridge?
Hi welcome!
Don't forget to post some of your music for us to hear!
What part are you worried about?
The principle is the same though generally the strings stretch a lot more so hard to initially get in tune compared with steel strings
Welcome to the forum and sorry for the delay in responding!
Ah that is an interesting point that I had not considered.
