Thanks James

The last time I used an emulated amp was on an old valvestate amp I had and it sounded terrible - I have never tried using one again and since relied on micing up the amp or using an amp plugin. I am pretty sure that I have one on my Blackstar so may give it a go.

I use a Boss delay pedal, which just adds a bit of depth to my solos really - what do you use your delay for and what makes this one any more epic than the next delay pedal? ( I have never really experimented with many delay pedals!)

What is this?

Glad to hear you are enjoying your Blackstar. Do you usually have it playing quite loud and if so, how do you find the performance when having to work at lower volumes?

Wow the guitar really does sound great - it records really well however you are doing it already! Will be interested to hear how it sounds through an amp and recorded!

I also think the vocals are fine! Keep 'em coming!

Hey Roger

Sorry it has taken me so long to check out your video. I have been extremely busy!

I like your playing. I also like the pedal - do you work for the company or is it your product or something?

I really like it when you can control distortion dynamics by rolling the volume on the guitar. It is something that not too many pedals/amp emulators do too well!

Is this something that you use on your day to day guitar set up?

I agree with Alun - it isn't about price nor brand.

Having said that you are still relatively newly associated with your Gibson so give it time! Some relationships take a while to mature!

Congratulations on your new guitar! I am sure it will bring much happiness!

So what kind of music are you into playing and what have you tried on the guitar so far?

Wow you are going to have a right collection of acoustics.

I have several guitars but I tend to only use two, one acoustic and one electric. I neve need to use my others - :

So what makes you choose to play one guitar over another at any given time? Do you have a favourite? default/big_smile

Nice Iain how is the band going? How many gigs now?

It's sounding a real pro outift you got going on there!

Nice one Alun - what inspired this purchase? I see this is a semi acoustic - is this the reason or was it something else?

I guess see what discount you get offered but if not substantial spend your money elsewhere.

Nice choice on the amp. I have the 1w and I am pleased with the tone though mine is lacking the effects loop which is a negative for me.

They were only sat down for the acoustic set but they stood for the rest!

I'm not near Southend - that's Essex isn't it?

Happy Christmas to all!

Nice one Iain!

Thanks for this.

So how about using them for listening to normal music? Can I ditch my old hifi?

My only concern about doing it this way is that you dial up a sound that is perfect on your setup yet play in through another and it doesn't sound the same, as your amp is colouring the sound and tone that you are hearing.

As per my HD500 review, I have not been playing enough to really give a decent review however I think I have currently found my favourite guitar so far...

I have always liked the look of the JS series as they look comfortable to play. They are indeed comfortable to play.

When I got my JS the whole thing needed a complete set up. The intonation was not set - in fact all the bridge blocks had been moved to one position. This resulted in the fine tuners not even coming into contact with the bridge. The neck was way out as well.

So initially I thought I had bought a faulty guitar but I took the bridge off completely, fixed the intonation and the tuning issue.

I set the action low and removed all fret biz via adjusting the truss. There is a visible bow in the neck but it seems the perfect position. No fret buzz, low action.

Playing the guitar is great. The neck is larger that my RG3120 but it doesn't bother me. What I love is how the high notes tend to "sing" - really lovely sound.

So far so good - very very pleased with this guitar!

Currently I use amps to play through which does create a bit of a problem when recording.

Now I have my HD500 it would make more sense to go through my computer as then what I hear is what gets recorded.

However my computer sound is just run through an oldish hifi system so it really is not designed for guitar and ultimately could colour my tone.

So what do you guys use for this? I was thinking maybe I should ditch the hifi and get some decent monitor speakers - is this a good idea and if so, how much would I be looking at spending on this? Should
I be looking at some specifically designed for guitar? and would I still be able to use these to play general music through when I am not guitaring?

Advice would be welcome.

Thanks! default/smile
