How can I train my ear?
I can write music, create melodies, play the piano, and even match notes vocally, but I struggle to identify them by name. I can't tell if it's A or D when I hear it, which makes it tough for me to recognize chords and such. Any advice?

Ties and key changes
If I have a tie into a key change, does the note stay the same despite the key change? For example here, I have an Eb with a tie into a new bar that has a key change. Does the note stay an Eb despite the key change or does it go from Eb to E natural? Thank you

Was anyone else surprised at how many songs are so simple?
I just learned easy to fall in love by Olivia Dean which is what prompted this post, the song was so simple but when I listen to the song imo it sounds like a masterpiece to me. I’ve felt that was about a few of my favorite songs and I think it’s made me like them more. I think it’s something about ...

Figuring out a progression
What progression is being played with the palm mutes at 0:36 in this video: I want to incorporate this kind of phrasing in my own song centered around D#Maj9 - A#Maj - Gm7 - Fadd11.

Exploring Tritone Substitution
Hello fellow Musicians,
I want to understand better the idea or usage of Sub V chords / tritone substitution, and, while I understand the concept, I'm struggling to find good sounding examples without any additional notes. Any suggestions or examples would be greatly appreciated.

Struggling with tuning when using a capo - any advice?
I play an acoustic guitar for church on Sundays and sometimes I have to use a capo. I noticed the strings lean sharp after applying the capo and so I have to tune the strings with the capo on between songs, which is very annoying during a live set. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this an issue ...

Struggling with chord changes - where to focus?
I’m one month into learning guitar. I’ve been playing on an acoustic guitar and following Justin Guitar’s course and am currently on module 4.
I’m struggling with my chord changes a little bit and think it might be easier if I knew where I should be focusing instead of looking back and fourth from ...

Struggling to Make Progress as a Beginner
I was given a guitar a month ago, and I was really excited to finally learn, but I feel like I'm not making any progress. I can barely play three chords, and I can't even play the intro of easy songs. Also, sometimes when I try to tune the guitar, the tuner detects that I'm playing a different ...
