I see that the recent UK visit from Guns N Roses has been anything but smooth. It would seem Axl Rose is still getting aggravated by situations that are happening.
I understand that the show in Reading was cut short but only because the band came on an hour late!
I'm not sure how good they are at actually playing now - anyone seen anything of them live?

Recently I have been setting up my computer for recording. I have always previously used a traditional setup ie
Guitar - effects - amp - mic - computer
I have previously give the line6 pod xt live a go and whilst I did like some of the sounds, I never really got on with it.
I recently gave the Revalver MKII plugin by Peavey a go and I must say, the amp sounds and tone I am getting is pretty impressive. The great thing about this is that I have only one wire into my audio interface so gone is the consistent trouble I got with my various pedals causing hum
The tone is punchy and what you hear through your PC is pretty much is what you get on your track - no worrying about micing up correctly or having enough volume to get a decent enough input.
The other thing I like about this is the simplicity in adding other effects, cabinets, heads compressors etc to achieve different sounds.
I am going to upload some of my recordings over the coming weeks so you can hear for yourselves what is being achieved - all through the computer!
Anyone else use amp simulators for their music production?

Yes this was an old recording of mine. These are the only two original recordings I have actually done. I am working on a couple more right now though so watch this space!

I think that I have this working OK now.
So if you would like to upload your own music feel free to do do. There should be a link above each post box. This will open a pop up window where you can browse to your MP3 file, and you can then upload it. On confirmation you will see the tag that you need to copy and paste into your post.
Few important points:
1) when you click upload I have not figured how to get the acknowledgement to show right away so, depending on your file size, you might not see anything happen for some minutes. You will eventually either get a confirmation or an error so hang on for it!
2)I have put a 10mb limit on this for now - I don't have infinite space on my server! If you do want to upload a file larger than this please let me know and I will see what can be done!
3)Please only upload your own music that does not own any copyrights owned by third parties. I do not fancy getting sued!
Get your recordings up here so we can hear you play! Here is a recording I did recently which was just a bit of fun taking some conversations from the night and adding them to music after.

Usually I give karma to people who have written good posts though really - I guess it means nothing!
Consider it like reputation points I guess
I assume you have the thumbs up/thumbs down icon and it is not only reserved for site admin?

I don't mind it but I have now switched to diet coke. I have heard rumours that diet is worse for you but I don't drink it too often.
I also heard that different parts of the world have different tasting coke - like USA has sweeter coke. I don't know if this is really true...

Yes I think the reason it did not work was because I deleted the root file. It works for me in FF and IE though not tested in crome.

What is it that you are concerned with?
I have added asocial bookmarking tag at the top but you do not need to use this at all. I have also added the editor above the posts which just automatically adds the tags for you - similar to what we have talked about regarding the youtube videos!

I am surprised you have not heard of Van Halen - Eruption is a great tune and great to get you familiar with the technique of tapping on the electric guitar!
